Good News: Joint Admission Board Lowers University Entry Points For 2012 Candidates

The University Joint Admission Board ( JAB) on Monday released new cut off points for joining university for students who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 2012.
 
According to JAB, students who scored a minimum of B of 61 points will be selected for admission but girls who scored B of 60points and B- of 59points will be considered.

JAB announced that 53,010 students will be admitted to public universities up from last year’s 42,000. This is an increase of 11,000 students.

The Board also announced that 2,794 girls will be admitted to universities due to affirmative action. Another 94 students from purely arid lands will also join the institutions for higher learning.
