Kenyan Secondary School Scholarship Opportunities for 2018 KCPE Candidates - OPTIVEN GROUP FOUNDATION 2019 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS

Optiven Group Foundation will be awarding 2019 scholarships through Soaring Eagles Scholarship Programme (SESP) to needy KCPE candidates in counties all over the Country. 

SESP has so far assisted hundreds of deserving Kenyan cases from poor family backgrounds across all the 47 Kenyan counties.This initiative seeks to identify bright and deserving students, who are subsequently offered a full scholarship for their secondary school studies.

  • This scholarship fully caters for the beneficiaries’ school fees, full uniform sets, course books, continuous mentorship, training and talent management, which is meant to expose them early enough, to huge career possibilities in their schooling journey.

  • Minimum Marks attained should be 350.

  • You can deliver a hard copy of the application with the required attachments to "Barclays Plaza, 14th Floor, Loita Street or via email to info@optivenfoundation.org

  • Reference as "FORM ONE YEAR 2019 APPLICATION"

  • Deadline for application is on or before 5th December 2018.

  • Note: Only 2018 KCPE candidates will be considered.

To check your KCPE results 2018 by SMS send an SMS with your Index Number to 20076 for Safaricom, Airtel and Orange mobile phone lines

Parents and pupils should check the Kcpe 2018  results for any anomaly such as incorrect candidate’s name, school name and code as well as wrong subject grade and report to Knec

To check the 2017results online for ( KCSE 2017), go to the Kenyan NationalExaminations (KNEC) website http://www.knec.ac.ke/ and enter your Index number. Then click send. The results will then pop up for you to see.

To check your KCSE 2017 results via or through SMS,  simply type an SMS with your Index Number from a Safaricom, Airtel Yu, or Orange mobile number and then send to 22252. The results will then be sent to your mobile number immediately.

15 University of York Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships in UK, 2017

The University of York has been awarded 15 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSCUK) for 10 students joining the online Masters in Public Policy and Management programme and 5 students joining the Masters of Public Administration – International Development programme, commencing their studies in September 2017.
The University of York is a research-intensive plate glass university located in the city of York, England. Established in 1963, the campus university has expanded to more than thirty departments and centres, covering a wide range of subjects
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing Masters Degree courses at University of York.
Study Subject: Scholarships are available in Public Policy and Management programme and Masters of Public Administration – International Development at University of York.
Number of Awards: 15 scholarships are available.
Scholarship Award: The awards themselves are funded by the Department for International Development (DFID).
Scholarship can be taken in  the UK
Eligibility: Scholarships are available to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:
  • a citizen of a developing Commonwealth country, refugee, or British protected person
  • permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country
  • hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases
  • are working in or with public organisations, including NGO’s, aid agencies and local/national government departments, and can demonstrate throughout their application that they are working towards the Sustainable Development Goals
  • can dedicate at least 15 hours each week to their studies with a number of study sessions being over 2 hours in length
  • meet the University Entry Requirements for the programme (see the ‘Entry requirements’ on each 
  • course web page)
  • Nationality: Students from following developing commonwealth countries can apply for these scholarships.

    College Admission Requirement
    Entrance Requirement: Applicants must hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases.
    Test Requirement: No
    English Language Requirements: If they’re a non-native English speaking applicant they must provide evidence of their English language ability.
    How to Apply: Full instructions for the Electronic Application System (EAS) are contained on the Scholarship Commission’s website. It is very important that you use the EAS and please do not apply directly to the University.  If their scholarship application is short-listed we will notify you at the appropriate time to apply to the university.  The scholarship application will ask they to provide email addresses for 2 referees.  When they submit their application to the EAS their referees will be contacted to ask them to provide and upload a reference.  They receive a huge volume of applications for these awards and therefore will only consider those applications supported by 2 references at the closing date (12th May) so please submit your application at least 1 week before the deadline to allow your referees time to write a letter for you.  Applicants are responsible to follow up with their referees to ensure letters are submitted.
    Application Deadline: The application deadline is May 12, 2017.

ILRI-DAAD PhD Scholarship Mitigation of Greenhouse gas Emissions-Kenya

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works to enhance the roles livestock play in pathways out of poverty in developing countries. ILRI is a member of the CGIAR Consortium, a global research partnership of 15 centres working with many partners for a food-secure future. DAAD promotes international academic exchange as well as educational co-operation with developing countries through a variety of funding and scholarship programs.

ILRI Research Project:  Mitigation of Greenhouse gas Emissions

The project aims to generate a comprehensive baseline data for greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions from agricultural systems in East Africa region.

Call for scholarship applications at the SA-GER CDR - Masters and PHD

For applicants from Sub-Saharan African countries with an excellent academic record the DRD offers a limited number of DAAD merit scholarships per year.

Scholarships are available for full-time students of:

the different PhD options at the centre (PhD UWC) (next deadline 31 July 2015, online application platform will be available from April 2015 only!)
