KCB Foundation - Procedure Of Application For Award Of Secondary Scholarships / Bursaries In Kenya



This is a charitable organization, established in the year 2007 to oversee the overall corporate social responsibility programs for the KCB Group. The management of KCB Foundation is vested on the Board of trustees. 

The board is scheduled to meet every three (3) times in a financial year. However, the day to day operations of the foundation are handled by The Manager, KCB Foundation and The Divisional Director, Public Affairs and Communication. The Foundation supports community programmes in all the countries where the Bank operate, i.e.  Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Southern Sudan and Rwanda.


How to send your request.

All applicants seeking for financial support from the KCB Foundation are required to complete a specific project proposal format,  and can submit through the below ways;

 The proposal evaluation process

The proposals that meet the foundation’s criteria and CSR policy are received and reviewed on a rolling basis by the Management of the Foundation. Feedback on all proposals (successful or non successful) proposals are given within duration of two weeks.

How to qualify for grants and Donations from KCB Foundation

For any proposal to be considered by the KCB Foundation, it must satisfy all the below criteria;
  • It must address either of the five (5) Foundation’s thematic areas i.e. Environment, Education, Enterprise Development, Health and Humanitarian Intervention.
  • The projects and initiatives should be within Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Southern Sudan and Rwanda.
  • The applying institution must be either of the following; registered societies, trusts, companies, public institutions, schools and community based organizations who are engaged in social projects and endeavours.
  • The activities or projects must have a demonstrable sustainability plan in place more so if they are start ups.
  • The provision should make a provision for the staff of KCB Foundation to be involved in the project as volunteers, mentors and professionals.
The KCB Foundation does not extend support to;
  • Proposals for the support of Individuals

  • Proposals for initiatives that provide funding for political causes or political groups and initiatives that promote religious causes.
