Maseno University library has been
selected to participate in the ‘SAGE Library Value’ project. The
project, ‘Library Value in the Developing World’ will investigate the
value of academic libraries for teaching and research staff at twelve
institutions selected from countries classified by the world bank as low
income and middle income economies.
The survey will be carried out within the month of April 2013 and it aims to provide the academic library community in developing countries with a better understanding of the connections between academic libraries and academic departments, and to identify practical ways to enhance their working relationship.
Library Value in the Developing World will focus on the similarities and differences from numerous countries. The research team will be working with and using case studies from a number of Universities which include: Maseno University, University of Cape Coast of Ghana, Indonesian Research Institute of Indonesia, and National Scientific Library of Georgia among other eight Universities.

As a result of this participation, Maseno University has been granted two years free institution-wide access to SAGE Journals, SAGE Knowledge and SAGE Research Methods.
